Space Optics Manufacturing Technology Center (SOMTC)

The objective of SOMTC is to enable the development of advanced technology for NASA's future programs
in the 21st century. These programs range from the Next-Generation Space Telescope, currently under study
at the Goddard Space Flight Center, to the long-term goal of NASA Administrator, Dan Goldin, of imaging
earth-like planets in distant solar systems (currently being studied at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory).
